Technical Features

Student data is imported from school administration and timetable systems (including OASIS, Principal for Windows (PFW), MAZE, CASES21, Timechart, FirstClass, Timetabler, SAMS) making data import hassle free.

· Curriculum Data and Comment Banks may be created at school and/or downloaded from  the Internet. Schools can also swap both  curriculum and comments.

· Courses are designed very easily with a tree view.

· Lesson plans, work samples and assessment activities may be added to the system.

· Teachers use the simple data entry module at school or home; alternatively they may choose to record their assessments on scanned record cards, called scansheets.

· Lesson plans, assessment guidelines and other curriculum information may be accessed.

· Comment banks and/or manually typed comments can be used.

· Senior and pastoral teachers may view all comments and assessments as soon as they are entered.

·  Data checking tools allow missing data to be quickly identified

· Report formats are designed in school using MS Word or selected from a range of pre-defined layouts.

· Senior staff receive feedback through instant analysis of results, including a wide range of graphs.

· Reports are printed collated, and can be folded and stapled ready to go home.

· Reports are archived as MS Word documents, or even PDF documents, for long term records.

· Reports can be posted, emailed or published on the Web.

Printers

· Any mid range laser printer may be used for printing scan forms provided it possesses the following capabilities:

  • An ideal choice for most printing applications is a digital photocopier - typically 30-60ppm, high volume paper handling and low print cost.

Scanner

· Any scanner capable of 300dpi black & white TWAIN scanning may be used. ARC recommends Fujitsu scanners with automatic document feeders and Minolta digital copiers.
