Student data is imported from school administration
and timetable systems (including OASIS, Principal for Windows (PFW), MAZE, CASES21, Timechart,
FirstClass, Timetabler, SAMS) making data import hassle free.
· Curriculum Data and Comment Banks may be created at
school and/or downloaded from the Internet. Schools can also swap both
curriculum and comments.
· Courses are designed very easily
with a tree view.
· Lesson plans, work samples and assessment activities
may be added to the system.
· Teachers use the simple
data entry module at school or home; alternatively they may choose to record
their assessments on scanned record cards, called scansheets.
· Lesson plans, assessment
guidelines and other curriculum information may be accessed.
· Comment banks and/or
manually typed comments can be used.
· Senior and pastoral
teachers may view all comments and assessments as soon as they are entered.
· Data
checking tools allow missing data to be quickly identified
· Report formats are designed in school using MS Word or selected from a range
of pre-defined layouts.
· Senior staff receive feedback through instant analysis of
results, including a wide range of graphs.
· Reports are printed collated, and can be folded and stapled ready to go home.
· Reports are archived as MS Word documents, or even
PDF documents, for long term records.
· Reports can be posted, emailed or published on the Web.

Printers
· Any mid range laser
printer may be used for printing scan forms provided it possesses the following
capabilities:

feeds straight and consistently positioned. This is normally the case with
printers that have a photocopier style feed tray.

ideal choice for most printing applications is a digital photocopier - typically
30-60ppm, high volume paper handling and low print cost.
Scanner
· Any scanner capable of
300dpi black & white TWAIN scanning may be used. ARC recommends Fujitsu scanners
with automatic document feeders and Minolta digital copiers.
